 Since
1972 many psycho-social operators have trained in Autogenic Training
at the Italian Center for Study and Development of Psychotherapy and
Autogenic Training (CISSPAT).
They feel the need to use practical psychological techniques in their
everyday work which are also easy to learn, with a scientific basis
proven by long years of clinical experimentation and a limited timeframe
for their use. More recently, with the rise of so-called "short term"
interventions in psychotherapy, CISSPAT also took on a more precise
educational and training orientation which resulted in the creation
of the Italian School of Autogenic Psychotherapy and Short Term Psychotherapy,
which in addition to autogenic methods, proposes the study and teaching
of "short term" ones.
More than 15 years after the founding of the Padua Center and 5 from
the School connected with it, many of the Students trained in this
type of therapy asked for the creation of a Psychotherapy Society
which would offer them a more precise professional qualification in
the field of Autogenic Psychotherapy and Short Term Psychotherapy
as well as an official and public identification of the operator role.
S.I.P.A.B. is primarily aimed at in-depth scientific research in this
area of psychotherapy and includes all those who have the academic
credentials the Society requires and a serious educational and training
curriculum which concludes with a selective test, want to participate
in this common orientation by practicing it through the many techniques
it includes in their professional activity, both public and private.
