PRESENTATION
Hypnosis, as Cesare L. Musatti confirms, is "a particular state of
the conscious which, both for the phenomena which are produced in
it and what it can produce, is of extreme interest for psychology
and psychiatry…
And it is not by chance that all modern clinical and dynamic psychology
(including psychoanalysis) has historically developed starting with
studies done last century [1800] on hypnosis".
The late Prof. Franco Granone, the most famous Italian scholar in
the field of clinical and experimental hypnosis, who was Honorary
President of the Hypnosis Therapy Section at CISSPAT until 2000, the
year of his death, taught that hypnosis means, "the possibility of
inducing a particular psychological-physical state in a subject which
can be used to influence the psychic, somatic and visceral conditions
of the subject using the relationship created between them and the
hypnotizer."
